Lashaun Drew, owner of the restaurant, encourages people to come to this event because this is the opportunity for customers to talk to some of their favorite athletes.

“You never really get a chance to talk to them because they’re working and doing their thing,” said Drew. “This gives you an opportunity to get with them and talk to them and get to know them as people and not just them out there boxing.”

Brandon “Bruiser” Carey and Sherrod “Big Deal” Dunlap were in attendance, Carey holding the Continental Superheavyweight Championship and Dunlap holding the National Influencer Amateur Championship They both shared encouraging words with aspiring fighters seeking the blueprint on how to become successful at the sport of boxing.

“It takes a lot of discipline and sacrifice,” said Dunlap. “I’m 50 years old and I feel like I can beat any age range, you can do it just put your mind to it and you could become a champion.”
