EHT, NJ- The Hearts Therapeutic Riding Center has been around since 2011and it’s a place where some have found peace according executive director of Hearts TRC Stefanie Green says “horses create a safe space for people.” 25 acres of their land is located at 220 Leap Street in Egg Harbor Township also six stall barns and an outdoor arena with a 75ft pen for ground lessons with instructors and volunteers catering to the horses and the riders. A riding assessment must be taken before riding to determine out of their 8 horses which horse best suits you.
Horses for Heroes is a program designed for first responders, veterans, and active duty military personnel to experience healing while in the saddle and Green says she’s seen it with her own two eyes, “We’ve had veterans in our program that have gone on to become volunteers just because they’ve found these animals to be so healing,” said Green.
