WESTVILLE, N.J. – The Community Baby Shower was hosted in the Victory in Christ Christian Center overflow room. Inside were excess amounts of pampers, baby formula, and baby clothing for new and potential mothers in the community.

Jasmine Moore, the director of the non profit called the Victory Group, along with Yvette Pittman, assistant director of healthy women healthy families program, collaborated to not only bring awareness to the single mothers in the community about the resources available, but also bringing doula Dara Belcher to speak on getting more in touch with your body.

Raffle prizes were available and consisted of gift baskets full of materials a brand new mother can take advantage of; the baby shower was open to mothers and their children from ages one to five. Refreshments were available too, so while guest speakers took the podium people in the audience had something to occupy them while they listened.

The baby shower went for two hours and within the time frame over 50 families walked away with more essential resources for their baby then when they walked in.

The community baby shower at Victory in Christ Christian Center was definitely What’s Good in South Jersey!
