BRIDGETON, N.J. — The City of Bridgeton has to make room for a new business on Commerce Street, and it’s called Sunshine Clothing & Gifts, owned by Brisa Ocampo.

Once you enter the new Sunshine Clothing & Gifts in downtown Bridgeton, you’re greeted with kid friendly tunes setting the atmosphere for a child to feel right at home. It’s What’s Good in South Jersey — with Isaiah Showell.

If you take strolls on Commerce Street go eastward all the way to 26 E. Commerce Street and you will find the newest hub for children’s toys and apparel. Ms. Brisa always noticed while in Bridgeton that there were not many stores for children and she rapidly wanted to change that.

“The kids also deserve any toy any clothing anything for the babies,” said Ocampo.

With her two daughters by her side helping with the business, Ocampo has clothes for newborn babies along with toddlers as well as toys and accessories all catering to the children. Once you enter the store, you’re greeted with kid friendly tunes setting the atmosphere for a child to feel right at home.

“This is a dream that is now here,” said Ocampo.

Ocampo chose Bridgeton as a location for her business because the city reminds her of home and family in Mexico, and she affectionately calls Bridgeton little Mexico.

“I feel like we are community,” she said. “I need to be here. When I’m here, I feel like I’m in Mexico.”

From Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. the store is open.

Make time, South Jersey, to visit Sunshine Clothing & Gifts, especially if you have children because this store caters to them, and it’s definitely What’s Good in South Jersey this week.
