GLASSBORO, N.J. – Hair 2 There salon hosted a free school supply giveaway for the community and collaborated with Empowered Life Church who donated more school supplies.

The owner of the salon, Damon Knox, decided to also partner with the Division of Social Services of Gloucester County and allowed Nathan McCargo, a representative from the division, to talk to people who were interested. The school supplies consisted of backpacks, gluesticks, pencils, and other supplies that young students needed.

Pastor John Gray of The Empowered Life Church believes that hosting events like these is doing God’s work.

“We are the hands and feet of God,” said Gray.

The event was on Saturday, Aug. 30, and went from 1-5 p.m. and within that time the school supplies disappeared along with the kids leaving with brand new haircuts to match their new school gear.

The Hair 2 There mascot is a huge bear that attacked the kids with hugs while they waited to get their haircuts which made a great impression on the moms and other parents in the salon.

Hair 2 There Salon located at 359 N. Main Street in Glassboro is definitely What’s good in South Jersey. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and book your hair styled appointment.
