MERCHANTVILLE, N.J. – “Where Wonder Meets Wisdom” is a slogan that has proven true at Gynsyng Dispensary located in Merchantville.
The Vice President of Operations, Tom Murzenski and his wife, Jana Murzenski turned the now defunct Rite Aid on 14 S. Centre Street into a ‘mom and pop shop’ where people can come in, spend time and unwind since its opening on Feb. 22, 2024.

“I think our location has a lot to offer,” Tom Murzenski said. “Our results speak for themselves, that we really care about spending the time with the customers [ensuring] that we are addressing their needs.”
Murzenski commented on how the other 12 dispensaries located within a 10 mile radius of Gynsyng do not have a lounge area where buyers can gather, while instead other shops have a ‘come, and go’ ideology.
The zoning areas allowed for Gynsyng to be approved for this fan-favorited addition, setting the dispensary aside from all of its competitors. Not everyone is privy to traveling to dispensaries in Atlantic City to experience all that consumption lounges have to offer, but Gynsyng brings these experiences to a walkable town setting.
The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission approved four consumption lounges on July 15, two in Atlantic City, one in Newark, and Gynsyng in Merchantville.
“There aren’t many towns that allow consumption lounges, so again we’re fortunate with that,” Murzenski said.
Upon walking in, there is a lobby area where customers are carded before being taken into the sales portion of the dispensary. In this section, customers are greeted with displays of edible marijuana, pre-rolled product, oils and much more merchandise.
There is another section toward the back of the establishment that takes customers to what Murzenski describes as ‘our best friend’s finished basement.’
Gynsyng can be found on social media platforms such as FaceBook and Instagram where the company gives its viewership knowledge on marijuana usage.
Gynsyng is known to sponsor other businesses and table during Merchantville events every month, bolstering community engagement and drawing in future clientele.
“The first Friday of every month during the summer from May to September, there’s what’s called ‘Market Off Centre [Street],’” Murzenski said. “[Merchantville allows] all kinds of vendors to come in.”
In prior times, Gynsyng hosted a cat and dog adoption event inside their lounge area, as well as question and answer sessions to try and help eliminate different stigmas surrounding medical and non-medical marijuana.
Gynsyng will be hosting game nights, such as bingo, and guitar nights in upcoming weeks, providing a relaxed atmosphere for its clientele.
