GLASSBORO, N.J. – Models threw on their best “fits” and confidently owned the “Including You! Runway” on Saturday, July 26 at Rowan University hosted by the “From We Can’t 2 We Can” organization.
Families, friends, and others came to show their support and enjoy the show. Donations were accepted throughout the day to reach their fundraising goal of $20,000.
From We Can’t to We Can is a nonprofit organization that prioritizes the representation, inclusion, and proper funding of medical equipment for people with disabilities.
Trinity Jagdeo, 24, started this nonprofit because she noticed the lack of representation of disabled people in the entertainment industry.
Jagdeo also created “Superhero Series,” a line of children’s books where the superheroes are based on real children with disabilities. These books help children feel represented and show how brave, strong, powerful, bright, and kind the children featured in the books are.
She also raises money to provide medical equipment to families that cannot afford it. At the Including You! Runway, people were invited to donate to support this cause.
After the red carpet opening, the fashion show, and the speech given by Jagdeo, the audience was left inspired and amazed.
