PATERSON, N.J. —  Cumac hosted a vaccine clinic open to the public with the client service coordinator Cynthia Cangre-Ron and the rest of her Cumac teammates monitoring the event.

“Our goal is to reach out the communities here in Paterson to make sure everyone has health equity, to make sure they have the information that’s correct,” Cangre-Ron said. “Any kind of updated information regarding COVID-19 or vaccines we make sure they have access and get support wherever they are.”

Cumac food pantry hosts a COVID-19 vaccine clinic while helping families fight hunger. It’s What’s Good — with Isaiah Showell.

Cumac is a food pantry, and their mission is to fight hunger and its root causes through a holistic, trauma-informed approach that provides groceries and basic necessities to families and individuals in need.

No appointments are required. All people need to do is walk in and get registered, and they can receive a vaccination shot of Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson.

“We set up here at 9:00 a.m. and get ready for the 9:30 crowd whether they’re getting vaccination or their booster,” Cangre-Ron said. “It starts getting busier towards the afternoon because these are the people leaving work or picking up their kids from school.”

The Vaccine Clinic wraps up at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and is located at Freedom Village Senior apartments on the corner of Summer Street and Harrison Street here.
