STRATFORD, N.J. — Freebyrd Chicken, a fast-food chain that currently has just two locations, will open a third restaurant in Stratford.

Although the eatery hasn’t announced an exact opening date, its website says the Camden County location is “coming soon.” Freebyrd’s South Jersey location will be located at 2 S. White Horse Pike in Stratford. There are only two other Freebyrd Chicken locations in the United States: one in Philadelphia, and another in Washington, DC.

Freebyrd’s menu features a wide assortment of chicken products, including sandwiches, tenders, and wings. It also offers both crispy and grilled chicken products, a number of sauce options, curly fries, salads, and coleslaw. Freebyrd’s five sauce options, which are all made at the restaurant daily, are the original Freebyrd sauce, Freebyrd hot sauce, moonshine BBQ, ranch, and sriracha mayo.

In addition to the main food options, Freebyrd offers sweets like chocolate chip cookies, ice cream sandwiches, and milkshakes. The chain says on its website that all chicken used is locally-sourced and never frozen.

There are dozens, if not hundreds of fast-food chicken options scattered throughout New Jersey, including powerhouse chains like Chick-Fil-A and KFC. However, Freebyrd Chicken’s new location in Camden County should provide a welcome change of pace to the big boys.
