BRIDGETON, N.J. — The holiday season is in full swing, and with that, you may have some gift shopping to take care of before the end of this calendar year.
Although it’s tempting to get your shopping done through larger companies that offer convenient options like two-day shipping straight to your front door, it’s also important to support local businesses in your community. Some of these businesses have struggled immensely throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Although there is light at the end of the tunnel thanks to Pfizer’s vaccine being approved over the weekend, small businesses still need your support.
With that in mind, here are a handful of businesses in and around Bridgeton that you can support while getting your holiday shopping done.
Hope Chest Boutique
Located at 597 Shiloh Pike off NJ-49, the Hope Chest Boutique and more offers a wide variety of holiday gifts for everyone on your shopping list. From clothing to specialty food and bath & body sets, you can find pretty much any gift you need at the Hope Chest Boutique.
In addition to its in-person location, which offers curbside pick-up service, the Hope Chest Boutique has its own website where you can place orders to be shipped out. During the holiday season, all orders that total more than $50 come with free shipping. You can also download the store’s mobile app to your phone and receive 10% off on your first order through the app.
You can find more information about the Hope Chest Boutique on its Facebook page.
If you need a gift for your special someone, Bresciano’s Florist in Bridgeton has plenty of holiday-themed flower arrangements. The florist is located at 653 N Pearl Street, and it also offers a number of other gift baskets for anyone.
Some of these gift baskets include fruit and candy, and you can check out everything the store has to offer on its website. Bresciano’s Florist has a Christmas section devoted solely to holiday gifts, but you can also shop for a number of different occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays on the site.
B&B Thrift Shop
You never know what you’re going to find at a thrift shop, so why not stop into the B&B Thrift Shop, which is located at 20 Old Deerfield Pike in Bridgeton during your holiday shopping trip?
According to its Facebook page, the B&B Thrift Shop sells items ranging from clothes to furniture and collectibles. The store is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but it’s open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every other day of the week.
Bridge The Gap
Located in the heart of downtown Bridgeton at 44 S Laurel Street, Bridge the Gap is another thrift shop where you can find an assortment of items this holiday season.
Follow South Jersey previously featured the local nonprofit on The Annalisa Show, which you can check out here. In addition to offering the thrift shop, Bridge the Gap also offers a learning center and, after a recent expansion, a ministry cafe that serves coffee, ice cream, and hamburgers. All items sold at the thrift store were donated by members of the community.
Bridge the Gap is open from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. You can find more information about the nonprofit on its Facebook page.
