MILLVILLE, N.J. — The Lakeside AVID site team has teamed up with the New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger, Rowan College of South Jersey, Inspira Health, and the Millville Police Department to host a free produce distribution event on Friday.
Families can receive 25 pounds of mixed produce per household while supplies last from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, September 11 in front of Lakeside Middle School, which is located at 2 N. Sharp St. in Millville. Community members don’t need to provide any form of identification or registration at the event, and you can drive or walk up to the middle school in order to receive food.
Mask wearing and social distancing, however, will be required, as per coronavirus safety guidelines.
Friday’s event at Lakeside Middle School won’t be the only food distribution to take place in South Jersey this week. State and local officials are teaming up with Touch New Jersey to provide approximately 4,500 boxes of fresh food to community members from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, September 10 at 1101 N. Delaware St., in Paulsboro. The donations made for this particular event will be able to feed more than 2,000 people.
