WOODSTOWN, N.J. — Senate President Steve Sweeney, Deputy Assembly Speaker John J. Burzichelli, and Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro participated in the opening ceremony of the Salem County Fair at the Salem County Fairgrounds in Woodstown on August 6.
“The country fair is an American tradition. It’s a true sign of summer and brings the whole community together. It truly does have something for everyone,” said Senator Sweeney. “The food is good, the people are friendly, it’s fun for any age, and it always shows off the hard work of South Jersey farmers. This is an event I look forward to every year.”
The Salem County Fair will be celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year, and will run from August 6 to August 9. A full schedule of events can be found on the Salem County Fair’s website.
“The Salem County Fair is a fun, positive, family friendly event,” said Assemblyman Burzichelli. “The county fair is the best way for people to take a break, get outside, and enjoy some of the best that Salem County has to offer.”
Assemblyman Taliaferro added, “This fair wouldn’t be celebrating its 60th Anniversary if it wasn’t for the great citizens of Salem County, it wouldn’t be possible […] This fair gets better every year because everyone, in their own way, contributes to the richness of the event.”
There is no admission fee to attend the fair, but a $10 donation will get you a parking pass that is good for all four days. The annual fireworks display is scheduled for Thursday August 8 at 9:15 p.m.
