Rutgers University–Camden Preps for 5th Annual Camden Comic Con this Weekend

Camden Comic Con returns to Rutgers University-Camden this weekend for a day filled with superheroes, comic books, and more.

Gerry Conway, the writer of the Spider-Man story arc The Night Gwen Stacy Died, and co-creator of comic book characters including Ms. Marvel (now better known as Captain Marvel) and the Punisher will be the headlining guest for Camden Comic Con. Conway will be holding a Q&A at 4 p.m.

The Philadelphia-based Elegance Quartet string ensemble will be back again this year to perform its popular Screens to Strings medley of pop-culture music at 5 p.m.

Visitors will be able to join in interactive programs, workshops, a cosplay contest, and tabletop gaming. Vendors and artists will be selling items in an exhibit hall and food trucks will be outside for hungry convention visitors.

Camden Comic Con started in 2014 to celebrate “the artistry and cultural phenomenon of comic books and associated media.“

Camden Comic Con is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th. The convention will be held in Rutgers University—Camden Campus’ Athletic and Fitness Center (301 Linden St, Camden) with free parking in select Rutgers parking lots.
