BRIDGETON, N.J. – Los Molcajetes hosted a school supply drive at their restaurant with backpacks and other school supplies up for grabs on Friday, August 29.

The Bridgeton Police Department donated $400 to the event and inspired manager of Los Molcajetes Karen Garcia to run the event. Free food was also available courtesy of Los Molcajetes reinforcing their care for the community they serve, and several non profits had a hand in contributing to the event as well.

Hope for Hank, a non-profit in the city of Bridgeton, was in attendance helping with the distribution of the school supplies, and Bridge The Gap provided face painting for the children.

The supplies went in a flash, but the event still went strong with help from local DJ T-Nasty playing the music along with more face painting.

Karen Garcia says she just wants to send the kids off to school ready to receive their opportunities.

“They don’t have to get ready, they’re all ready to meet their opportunity,” said Garcia. “We’re here to see the kids before they go to school to pray over them and make sure they’re readily available”

Los Molcajetes is definitely What’s Good in South Jersey. Visit them at 155 Irving Avenue in Bridgeton. Special acknowledgement to the Bridgeton Police Department along with Hope for Hank, Pops Chicken Box, and Bridge The Gap for making time to pour into the community of Bridgeton.
