VOORHEES, N.J. — The Camden County Library System has hired a full-time social worker to provide free, confidential support to residents, according to a press release from the county.
T’Keyah Hose, the new social worker, will travel to all library branches monthly to aid residents in a variety of aspects including housing assistance, food assistance and SNAP benefits, employment assistance, utility bill assistance, senior resources, health care and insurance, mental health and counseling referrals, and much more.
“The Camden County Library’s addition of a full-time social worker demonstrates our commitment to meeting residents where they are and addressing their immediate needs,” Commissioner Virginia Betteridge said in the press release. “The library is so much more than just a place to check out books, it is a pillar of community support. Hiring a social worker to assist our residents with important needs is guaranteed to strengthen our community and I applaud the library for this forward-thinking initiative.”
