Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., along with other officials highlighted the busses’ exterior design that features images of Atlantic City residents of different age groups, photos of the city, and the mayor’s slogan, ‘It’s a Great Day Here in the City of Atlantic City.’

“As I often say, our youth and seniors are our two most precious resources,” Mayor Small in a press release from the city. “Under the Small administration, we completely revamped our Health and Human Services Department and are offering more services to our Atlantic City youth and seniors than ever before, including taking them on quality of life trips. Transportation can be costly, but having these buses will drive those costs significantly down and save the taxpayers of the Great City of Atlantic City money.”

According to the press release from the city, two of the buses, each seating 54 passengers, were paid for through grants the city was able to obtain. The New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority purchased the third, 20-passenger bus which contains a wheelchair lift.

The city also received funding from the State of New Jersey for a charter bus and two sprinter vans that will be used for similar purposes next year.
