PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. — The Atlantic County Animal Shelter is waiving all adoption fees for a selection of pets that are ready for immediate adoption during the regional “Clear the Shelters Weekend.”
This is the fifth year the Atlantic County Animal Shelter has utilized “Clear the Shelters” to assist in over 400 adoptions since it began participating in the event.
The shelter can be found at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville and is open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The shelter offers dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Occasionally, purebred dogs and cats will be available for adoptions.
“This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who may be interested in adopting a pet,” noted Dennis Levinson, Atlantic County Executive. “The significant savings should serve as an attractive incentive,” he added.
Regular adoption fees at the shelter range from $85 for cats and kittens to $110 for dogs and puppies. Those fees include mandatory sterilization, age-appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation. Canines adopted from the shelter are also provided with free obedience classes.
