A Danish offshore wind energy farm company and Rowan University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to open clinics for offshore engineering research.
Ørsted U.S. Offshore Wind and Rowan University signed the MOU on Wednesday, March 27th, which will allow students to research and collaborate on offshore engineering opportunities.
The MOU was signed during Rowan’s annual Faculty Research Day, “which showcases and honors outstanding research, scholarship and creative activity at the University’s three campuses.”
Ørsted submitted a bid to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to build their Ocean Wind project 15 miles off the coast of Atlantic City in December of 2018.
The offshore wind energy farm is expected to provide more than half a million New Jersey homes with clean, reliable and stable-priced power. It is also expected to create up to 1,000 annual construction jobs.
