PBS Documentary ‘Run, Hide, And Fight’ Screened At Hopeloft

Student journalist Akayla Nichols from Salem City interviews Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae about the affects of gun violence on youth.

BRIDGETON, NJ – The PBS produced documentary, “Run, Hide, and Fight” was shown at the Hopeloft for the youth in the city of Bridgeton on Saturday, January 24, followed by an open discussion on the documentary. 

The 23 minute documentary focused on college kids and their response to gun violence on campus and some of the youth in attendance of the screening have experienced or witnessed gun violence in their communities and had a chance to share and process their thoughts and feelings. 

Regina Lloyd of Hopeloft organized the event through a grant from PBS and with help from other community organizations. Lloyd’s goal was to provide a platform for kids to express themselves in a judgement free environment. 

“It’s all about empowering you guys,” Lloyd said to the youth in attendance.
