VOORHEES, N.J. – The Camden County Library System is beginning to reopen to the public, starting with limited services and hours at their larger branches. This week marked the first time indoor, in-person services have been available to library patrons since our facilities were ordered to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March.
“We are very excited to welcome Camden County residents back into our libraries after an unprecedented crisis forced our entire state to make the difficult decision of closing many similar shared spaces,” Freeholder Melinda Kane said. “Our staff is taking extra precautions to keep patrons safe when they return to our facilities, and we are asking that visitors do their part to keep others safe as well by wearing a mask, maintaining social distance, and limiting their time inside of the facility.”
In addition to the gradual reopening of larger branches, all of the Camden County Library System’s branches are also continuing to offer contactless pickup options.
Bellmawr, Gloucester Township, Haddon Township, South County, and Vogelson library branches are now open to the public on Monday and Wednesday from 5:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M with no-contact pickup on Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M and Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Ferry Avenue library branch is open to the public Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P. M. and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M, but will only have no-contact pickup on Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
When visiting library branches in person, patrons are asked to limit their visit to 30 minutes.
The Downtown and Merchantville branches of the library have not yet resumed operations open to the public; however, both are continuing to provide no-contact pickup options during the following hours: Downtown will have no-contact pickup only Monday-Thursday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. as well as on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The Merchantville branch will also offer only no-contact pickup on Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.
Information regarding the resumption of library systems will be posted to the library system’s website as it becomes available.
