CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. – In the grand tradition of coming home for Christmas, The Museum of Cape May County will once again celebrate the holiday season by opening its doors for a holiday open house. Young and old alike are invited to experience this year’s holiday extravaganza on Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their kids by noon — that’s when Santa will make his annual appearance to visit with children and share holiday sweets. Visitors will also be able to take a leisurely stroll throughout the house and enjoy magnificently decorated rooms as well as the museum’s beautiful campus – including a visit to the 1780 Smith Barn that houses Cape May County’s crown jewel: the 1859 original first-order lighthouse lens that sat atop the Cape May Lighthouse.
Guests who come out in hopes of enjoying the museum this holiday season will be awed by the rooms — each expertly decorated by local florists: Blooms, Garden Greenhouse, and Pine Lake Nursery. Experience holiday music with the songs of local singers John and Jan Haigis. And those who make the trip may delight in the glory of Christmases past, bask in the warmth of Cape May County’s long history, meet friends (old and new!), and enjoy the sounds and sights of Christmas – Cape May County-style!
The Museum of Cape May County is located at 509 Route 9 North in Cape May Courthouse, NJ 08210. For more information, visit their website at: http://www.cmcmuseum.org/
