VINELAND, N.J. – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties (BBBS) is now taking reservations for their annual “Rise & Shine Breakfast,” which is scheduled for Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3 at The Grove at Centerton located at 1022 Almond Road in Pittsgrove. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with a mix and mingle, and the full program will start at 8:00 a.m.

Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season. It’s a time when many individuals and businesses focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving to charitable causes.

According to BBBS Director of Development Melody Montgomery, “The one-hour program will include breakfast and a range of speakers who will testify to the positive impact one-to-one mentoring has had on their lives. It is an opportunity to strengthen current relationships and build new ones throughout the community in support of the BBBS new mission and vision.”

The goal of the event is to raise funds for BBBS, so guests are encouraged to make a contribution. However, there is no minimum or maximum that guests can contribute. “As the event is taking place on Giving Tuesday, we hope attendees will be inspired to donate, but it is not required,” Montgomery said in a press release.

“By investing in putting a mentor in the life of a child, you are helping them grow socially, emotionally, and academically. If you are unable to contribute financially, you will definitely leave with new information about the program and maybe a desire to participate as a mentor or volunteer yourself,” she said.

Although the event is free to attend, the deadline to RSVP is Nov. 26. Space is limited. To reserve a seat or to get more information, please contact Melody Montgomery at (856) 692-0916, or email her at: mmontgomery@southjerseybigs.org.
