CAPE MAY, N.J. — The Atlantic Cape Foundation and Cape May County Women’s Commission have announced that they will be honoring Microbiologist Stormy Freese, Ocean City Library Director Karen Mahar, and Delaware River and Bay Authority Commissioner Shirley “Becki” Wilson as their 2019 “Women of Wonder” award recipients. They will be recognized at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 11:30 a.m.
The charity luncheon will include remarks from Atlantic Cape and Women’s Commission representatives, stories from Atlantic Cape students, and an award presentation for the three recipients. Individual tickets are $40 and sponsorship opportunities are available. Proceeds from the event will support scholarships for students attending Atlantic Cape Community College.
The Women of Wonder League recognizes influential women for their outstanding and selfless dedication in helping others reach their full potential. The Women of Wonder League’s special recognition events seek to inspire the generosity of local donors and businesses. Through this support, it is possible for at-risk high school students in Cape May County to have the opportunity to attend Atlantic Cape Community College and become future community leaders. The Women of Wonder League stands by their notion that “building a child’s confidence in academic environments allows them to reach new heights in the classroom and in everyday life.”
The event is co-sponsored by the Cape May County Women’s Advisory Commission and Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation. Tickets and sponsorship information for the Women of Wonder League’s charity luncheon are available online at www.atlantic.edu/wow.
