Avalon to Host Annual Seafood Festival This Weekend

AVALON, N.J. — Celebrate seafood and seashore cuisine at Avalon’s annual Seafood Festival next weekend at Surfside Park.

From Saturday, October 12 to Sunday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can enjoy food from local vendors including Sylvester’s Seafood, The Whitebrier, Captain Chucky’s Seafood, The Mermaid Mutineer, and more. Check out vendors showcasing chowder, raw bar selections, fish tacos, bbq, seared scallops and even more.

At 1 p.m. on Sunday head over to the Chowder Championship, an all-you-can-eat contest where participants vote for the best chowder in town.

Browse the local retail vendors for original artwork, home décor, handmade jewelry, crafts, clothing, and accessories. Grab some local honey, browse seasonal gifts and decorations, and even pick up custom sports artwork for your favorite team.

Sound Advice Lounge will be streaming live college and NFL games throughout the weekend. Finally, listen to live music from 40 North, the Michael Thompson Duo and new this year, Five Times Famous.

The Seafood Festival will be held at the Surfside Park located at 30th Street and the Beach from Saturday, October 12 to Sunday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
