PENNSVILLE, N.J. — The 43rd Annual Pennsville Septemberfest will be held at Riverview Beach Park on Saturday, September 7, beginning at 11:00 A.M.
The festival promises a day and evening long fun event with plenty to do according to Pennsville Septemberfest Committee Chairman Rusty Cogan.
The day will start with a parade which has seen a wide variety of entertainment and has had its share of local celebrities through the years according to Cogan.
“Our parade has had numerous local personalities such as Sally Starr, Philadelphia cheerleaders, and many bands such as Pitman Hobo, Ed Coles band, and local high school bands,” Cogan said.
“After opening ceremonies where we introduce Miss Septemberfest, the day continues with food and game booths, crafter booths, and exhibit booths,” Cogan said. “At the rear of the park we have amusement rides all day.”

The Pennsville Septemberfest started in 1976 as a bicentennial celebration. “The group at the time thought it went over so well they decided to continue on an annual basis,” Crogan said. “Septemberfest was a nod to the time of the year. So, the first annual Septemberfest celebration was in 1977 and continues to the current time.”
There is also live music throughout the day at the gazebo from some of South Jersey’s premier musicians and bands leading up to the festival’s finale.
The Pennsville Septemberfest is a 501C 4 charity.
“We are self-funded using the income from past years to continue future celebrations,” Cogan said. “Any money made above break-even is put back into improvements to Riverview Beach Park.”
Riverview Beach Park is located at 5 N Broadway in Pennsville. The rain date for the event is Sunday, September 8.
