PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – Beginning today, August 12, crews will be replacing a water main on River Road and Union Avenue in Pennsauken causing stretches of both River Road and Union Avenue will be closed during work hours.
“This project is expected to last several weeks and will require detours for motorists who typically drive through this area as part of their commute,” Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo said. “It’s important to be aware of the project in advance and plan ahead for any expected delays. Motorists can expect sudden stops, shifting traffic patterns, and other changing conditions in the area surrounding construction. Additionally, you should be extra cautious and attentive when driving near construction crews and vehicles.”
From the hours of 7:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M., crews will completely close River Road between Lennox Road and Union Avenue. Union Avenue will also close between River Road and Haines Road. Motorists will be directed along a posted detour route to circumvent the affected roadway.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of work hours on Friday, November 13. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
