ATLANTIC CITY — The Jazzy and R&B duo Acute Inflections came to the Provenza Restaurant in Atlantic City to perform their musical set. Sadiki Pierre and Elasea Douglas together make up Acute Inflections, Elasea is the vocalist and Sadiki plays the bass as they cover a few popular tunes mixed with some of their original music. Both Sadiki and Elasea aka El say their show is a way to provide some positivity veering away from the negativity seen on the news.
“We’re just trying to do our part,” said Sadiki. “Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, and other artists who use their music to inspire love, hope, and positivity.
1920s fashion was being honored by Sadiki and El but by the audience too. A best dressed contest was held between the gentlemen and the ladies with winners receiving special prize baskets made from El. Crowd participation was encouraged as Acute Inflections sang hits like “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson or “Lovesong” by “The Cure.”
The proceeds from the show go to support the Renaissance Youth Center, a South Bronx charity empowering inner-city youth through music education.
