SJLWT Offers Volunteer Opportunities That Teach As Well As Serve

Cooper River Park.

SOUTH JERSEY – South Jersey Land and Water Trust (SJLWT) is holding eight community service events on Saturdays in March and April.

SJLWT is a non-profit conservation organization that works to protect and preserve land and water resources of southern New Jersey. According to their web page, they work to preserve farmland, install stream buffers and rain gardens, host educational workshops, and ultimately aim to maintain and preserve the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the region.

Cooper River Park Cleanup

Date and Time – March 4th, 10 AM- 12 PM

Location – 510 Park Blvd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002

About – Members and volunteers will participate in cleaning up alongside Cooper River

Cooper River Park Walk

Date and Time – March 18th, 10 AM – 12 PM

Location- 1301 Park Blvd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002

About – A $3 fee for non members and free for members to walk the Cooper River and search for wildflowers and birds.

Blueberry Hill Cleanup

Date and Time – March 25th 9 AM- 12 PM

Location – 50 Haddonfield-Berlin Rd, Glassboro, NJ 08026

About – Participants will be cleaning up the Blueberry Hill Trail in Glassboro

Bald Eagle Walk at Maurice Bluffs

Date and Time – April 1st, 10 AM- 12 PM

Location – Silver Run Rd, Millville, NJ 080332

About – A $3 fee for non members and free for members to walk along the Maurice River and learn about the plants and wildlife.

Cooper River Park Cleanup

Date and Time – April 8th, 10 Am- 12 PM

Location – To Be Determined

About – A cleanup around the Cooper River.

Farnham Park Cleanup

Date and Time – April 15th, 10 AM- 12 PM

Location – 1648 Baird Blvd, Camden, NJ 08103

About – Members will work with other groups in the community to clean up Farnham Park.

Earth Day Camden Park Cleanups

Date and Time – April 22nd, 10 AM- 12 PM

Location – 7600 Kaighn Ave, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08109

About – Members and volunteers will cleanup several parks in Camden, Farnham, Gateway, and Cooper River Parks to celebrate Earth Day.

Brooklawn Park Cleanup

Date and Time – April 29th, 10 AM- 12 PM

Location – Brooklawn Community Park. Timber Blvd, Brooklawn, NJ 08030

About – Members and volunteers will be cleaning up Brooklawn Park as they get a view of the Delaware River.

SJLWT has a mission to protect the land and water for the next generations to come. Their goals are to combat Global Warming, perform activities with other organizations in the community, and educate the communities they serve. And inspire the younger generations to take action through volunteerism, internships, and youth programs.
