VINELAND, N.J. – It’s that time of the year again. The annual Holiday Campus Concert that has become a tradition at the Rowan College of South Jersey will be taking place on Saturday, December 3 at the Guaracini Performing Arts Center on the college’s Cumberland County campus in Vineland. This concert will be led by the schools Jazz Band and Wind Symphony, who will be performing Christmas classics that prepare many for the Holiday season. These hits will include Feliz Navidad, Santa Baby, A Mariah Carey Christmas, Mr. Grinch and much more.
Joseph Akinsas, the band director and professor of music education, says that this concert is always the best one of the year, and that every year this is the one they look forward to the most.
“The Rowan College-Cumberland campus bands are approaching their 40th performance season,” Akinsas said. “The holiday season concerts are always the highlight of every performance year.”
In addition to the traditional campus concert, the Jazz Band and Wind Symphony at Rowan will also be traveling to Cumberland Mall, where they will be putting their performances on display for another tradition they call “Olde Fashioned Christmas on the Ave.”
“We hope the community will join us at our December 3rd campus concert, and our annual ‘Shopping Concert’ at the Cumberland Mall on Wednesday, December 14th. Happy Holidays,”Akinsas added.
The annual Holiday Campus Concert of Rowan College of South Jersey will be taking place at 2:00 p.m. at the Guaracini Performing Arts Center. Admission is free, and the show is open to the public including all students.
