SEWELL, N.J. — Gloucester County offers a free wills program for veteran and senior county residents, providing drafting and signing services to any veterans or seniors in the local area.

“Creating a will is likely not anyone’s idea of a good time. The excuses are many: ‘It takes too long,’ or ‘It’s too expensive or complicated,’” County Commissioner Director Frank J. DiMarco said in a press release from the county. “Gloucester County wants to dispel those notions and provide a practical solution for everyone– especially our Veterans and Seniors.”

The Gloucester County Office of Veterans Affairs can provide a free simple will to individuals 59 years of age and younger. The Division of Senior Services will provide a free simple will to veterans and residents 60 years of age and older.

A Simple Free Will is an uncomplicated will that does not involve trusts or other complex estate plans.

“Unless you go to an attorney and hire them, they’re usually thousands of dollars to get these documents drawn up,” Commissioner Denice DiCarlo said. “This program gets rid of the address stress of payment and provides an easy want to get your affairs in order.”

Any veteran who is 59 years of age and younger, please contact our Veteran’s Affairs Office at (856) 401-7660, a veteran or senior 60 years of age and older, please contact our Division of Senior Services at (856) 384-6900.
