RED BANK, N.J. — The Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission awarded a grant to Gloucester County Parks and Recreation for the creation of a mural on the stairs to the Butterfly and Children’s Gardens at the Red Bank Battlefield Park.
“The Butterfly Garden is a special part of Red Bank Battlefield and Gloucester County,” Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said. “We wanted to celebrate the garden with a bright, new mural that will welcome our residents, visitors and butterflies.”
The mural, titled “Mariposa,” was designed and painted by local artist Jacqualynn Tomasello.
“We are very grateful to the Cultural and Heritage Commission for giving us the opportunity to partner with Jacqualynn for this beautiful piece of art,” Freeholder Jim Lavender, liaison to Parks and Recreation, said.
The Red Bank Battlefield is located along the Delaware River in National Park, 100 Hessian Ave, National Park 08063. The park is open year-long from sunrise to sunset.
