EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Greater Egg Harbour Township Historical Society Museum is currently displaying a restored Minutes ledger.

The Township of Egg Harbor was awarded a $4,000 grant for the fiscal year 2019 through funding from the New Jersey Historical Commission administered by the Atlantic County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs in July for the restoration.

The ledger covers the history of Egg Harbor Township from 1833 to 1902.

The restored ledger will be on display from now until the end of the year at the Greater Egg Harbour Township Historical Society Museum located at 6647 West Jersey Avenue in Egg Harbor Township from 1 through 3 p.m. on Sundays.

The Township Historian, June Sheridan, and Township’s Clerk, Eileen Tedesco, worked together to research and see the restoration process come to life.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to restore a piece of the Township’s history, Tedesco said in a press release. “The grant will enable restoration of one of the Township’s oldest minute books for the public’s reference into the future.”
