OCEAN CITY, N.J. – For the 11th year in a row, Ocean City has been named the favorite beach in New Jersey.
The “Favorite Beaches” contest is held every year by the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium.
The winners were honored on Friday, June 28th during a ceremony held at the Music Pier in Ocean City. This is the 11th consecutive time that Ocean City has won the contest.
The survey was created in 2008 initially known as “New Jersey’s Top Ten Beaches,” to encourage some friendly competition and camaraderie amongst popular Jersey Shore communities throughout the state. The poll was later rebranded “Favorite Beaches” so that individual towns from all four coastal counties can have an opportunity to be in the contest.
