NEW JERSEY – New Jersey will soon have a designation for goods that are made within the state.
On Friday, May 10th, Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation (S2241) that requires the Department of State with the help of the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc., to develop an official State logo.
The “New Jersey-Made” or “NJ-Made” logo would be made available to manufacturers and producers of New Jersey-made products. The Department would also make guidelines for the use of the logo and has to make the logo available to manufacturers and producers through a website.
The legislation was sponsored by Senator Vin Gopal and Assembly members Eric Houghtaling, Joann Downey, and Clinton Calabrese.
