
NORTHFIELD, N.J. – Northfield Police Department officials are asking for the public’s help after a jogger was assaulted in Birch Grove Park.
On Tuesday, May 7th at around 4:30 p.m., Northfield Police respond to a call for help, when they arrived officers found a 28-year-old woman who was jogging on the trails at the park.
She told them she passed by a man who she described as a white or Hispanic, approximately 5’11”, between the ages of 25 through 35, with a thin build, round face, dark hair, and a slight mustache. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt an gray sweat pants.
As she jogged closer to the man, he lowered his pants and masturbated then lunged at her and grabbed her shirt collar. The victim pushed his hand away and fled the area.
Northfield Police Department are reminding people to exercise in groups of two or more if you are in an isolated area. And to use well-traveled areas.
