NEW JERSEY – NJM Insurance Group presented Atlantic County Institute of Technology (ACIT) with a $2,500 check for winning the second annual Just Drive Online Pledge Competition.

The award money will go towards ACIT’s Driver Education Program and help cover the installation cost of parking lot signage reminding students to “Just Drive.”

“We’re thrilled with the response we received to this year’s pledge competition,” NJM Consumer Safety Director Violet Marrero said. “More than 6,000 drivers willingly said that they will commit to “just drive,” and we look forward to growing that number in the future. On behalf of NJM, I applaud ACIT staff and students for helping create a culture of safety within their community by promoting this program.”

ACIT was recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top high schools in the county and has also been distinguished as a Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education.

The “Just Drive” Campaign was created in 2017 by NJM to raise awareness about distracted driving. The competition received more than 6,200 pledges from students at 100 high schools, along with their friends, family, and members of the community. ACIT was the top finisher with 432 pledges.
