
CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Gloucester County Institute of Technology’s (GCIT) Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) received 49 gold medals, six silver medals and $73,200 in scholarships at the 2019 FCCLA State Leadership Conference at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill on March 28th and 29th.
Thirty-five GCIT students qualified for the 2019 National Leadership Conference, scheduled for June 28 to July 4 in Anaheim, California.
The New Jersey Chapter of FCCLA also recognized GCIT as the best chapter in the state by awarding them the Red Rose Award. The award for the largest FCCLA Chapter in New Jersey also went to GCIT. Mr. Angarola, GCIT’s chapter adviser, received the 2019 Spirit of Advising Award.
Over 800 students throughout New Jersey competed at this year’s conference. Students competed in a number of categories, listed under FCCLA New Jersey’s National STAR Events.
