Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) and Rowan College Foundation celebrated its annual Scholarship Benefit on Friday, April 12th, and recognized two organizations the Give Something Back Foundation and the South Jersey Federal Credit Union for their continued support.
The Give Something Back Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by philanthropist, entrepreneur and author Robert O. Carr, that supports college-bound students from low-income families by giving scholarships and mentoring programs. It aims to help students graduate in four years with little or no debt. In 2017 Give Something Back donated $500,000 to RCGC, the largest donation in the College’s history, to fund scholarships to students who have faced economic hardships or other challenges.
South Jersey Federal Credit Union was honored as RCGC’s 2019 Business Partner of the Year. The credit union is a premier partner of the College’s Business and Corporate Center, an active participant in RCGC’s Cooperative Education Program and provides numerous internship and scholarship opportunities to students of the College.
Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $950,000 to support students and raised $350,000 in scholarships last year.
