GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center, formerly the Camden County Animal Shelter, is hosting its inaugural Tinsel Tails “Yappy Hour” benefiting shelter pets on December 18 at Wedgwood Country Club from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Freeholder Jonathan Young, liaison to Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center, said that this time of year is particularly difficult for homeless pets.
“Winter is an especially tough time for pets facing homelessness and neglect. Homeward Bound is committed to serving Camden County’s pets and pet owners by caring for as many of these animals as possible,” Young said in a press release. “We hope you’re able to join us for an evening supporting these vulnerable animals, or consider making an independent donation to support the Center this holiday season.”
Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center is the largest open admission shelter in the region, serving more than 5,000 abused, homeless and neglected animals annually. The center also offers low cost vaccinations for owned pets, spay/neuter surgeries for community cats, and works with local county officials to ensure the health and safety of homeless and feral companion animals.
Tickets to the event are $25 if pre-ordered online and $30 at the door. Tickets include two drinks, entry for the Basket of Cheer door prize, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds from the event will be used to support Homeward Bound’s facilities, operations, and the animals in its care.
There will also be chances to win several prizes and purchase tickets for the 50/50 “Holiday Halvsies” raffle.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.HomeardBoundNJ.org.
