VINELAND, N.J. — Officials from Main Street Vineland are asking for the public’s participation in a survey that will help develop downtown Vineland.
The online survey which was developed by Main Street New Jersey is being used in around 100 communities throughout the state. The survey asks about people’s current impressions of downtown Vineland, shopping habits, choices for future businesses, and their vision for the future of the downtown.
Click here to take the survey. The deadline for taking it is Sunday, September 8, at midnight.
“A downtown—like The Ave—is a constant work in progress,” Main Street Vineland Executive Director Robert Swanson said. “It is dynamic and always needs to be looked at with relation to the tastes, demographics, economic conditions, and shopping and business habits of the times. The survey and the subsequent full-day technical visit will help to adapt what was learned at the April session to our downtown’s needs and will move the process forward to chart a course of further progress with goals and objectives for The Ave.”
On September 12, officials from Main Street New Jersey will come to Vineland for a Transformation Strategy Development Technical Visit which will include officials from the city, Main Street Vineland, business, and community leaders, and Vineland residents. This is a follow-up on a Main Street New Jersey Regional Kickoff Workshop that took place in Vineland in April, at which representatives from Main Street districts throughout the state came.
The visit will take place from 7 a.m to 7 p.m. and will include analyzation of the survey results, as well as strategies to direct and strengthen downtown Vineland revitalization efforts. From that information, plans and strategies will be developed to help downtown for the next three to five years.
